OUR PREMIUM WOODS

The selection of the correct wood for each project is a major portion of the final design of each art piece.

The correct levels of color, grain intensity and direction, durability and contrast all play a contributory role in the complete, one-of-a-kind art piece.

The majority of requests for Custom Art are for Mesquite based designs. The rich color, beautiful, durable and dramatically grained wood reflects the harsh environment of its growth. Sourced from downed trees in the bleak and beautiful Sonora and Chihuahua deserts of South West Texas, it has a presence like no other.

The chocolatey, purplish hues of American Black Walnut imbue a warmth and solidarity that provides the perfect background for intricate art designs. Sourced from the sustainable forests of the Northern United States, Black Walnut conveys through the design, these same characteristics.

All domestic woods i.e.: Oak, Poplar, Maple, Red Elm, Cherry, etc. are sourced from downed trees or sustainable forests.

All exotic woods, used for dramatic accent only, such as Jatoba, Canary, Koa, Rosewood, Ebony, Purple Heart, etc. are sourced in accordance with C.I.T.E.S. international regulations as is the ultra-rare Texas Ironwood and Texas Ebony.
